Comprehensive Exterior and Interior Renovation and Restoration

University of Cincinnati Baldwin Hall

Cincinnati, OH

The project included the exterior renovation of the 1909 College of Engineering Building on the University of Cincinnati Campus. A project budget of approximately $14 million was required to renovate the exterior walls of the building envelope in order to preserve the historical significance of the architecture on the main campus, and extend the service life of the building for an additional 40-50 years. A portion of the scope of work consisted of an on-site analysis of the existing facade, including a destructive analysis of the masonry and terra cotta to determine the extent of the deterioration. Completed work provided the owner with a quality product which is anticipated to achieve the goal of long-term protection of the building from water damage while maintaining the aesthetic quality of the historic structure.
