Miami University’s Middletown Campus serves roughly 3,000 students, all of whom commute. Previous master plans proposed the student center in the geographic center of campus, however a concept locating the center at the effective heart of the campus soon emerged as the ideal option as it presents an immediate and dynamic campus façade. By day, the student center is an interactive social-center. By night, it is the public face of the University, hosting seminars, meetings, classes and functions for the community at large.
Johnston Hall includes a full food service and dining facility, a large multi-purpose room, smaller meeting/conference rooms, recreational spaces, a convenience store, and student organization and affairs offices.
