New Construction

Xavier University New Classroom Building

Cincinnati, OH

MSA and Shepley Bulfinch have teamed up for this project with Shepley focusing on the exterior shell of the building while MSA is responsible for the overall execution of the project including all building planning and design as well as coordination of engineering consultants and site work.

The new classroom building will replace Alter Hall. The design embraces the critical nature of its location in unifying the existing legacy buildings on the academic mall with the new facilities of the Hoff Academic Quad. As a transitional building, the exterior design links the two areas of campus through both form and aesthetics. The classroom building will provide direct pedestrian access on three of its four levels, allowing a more welcoming flow through the building and that part of campus. As a result, the building will become a crossroads for students, faculty and staff.

The new 54,000 sf classroom building will provide a portfolio of 46 flexible, general-use and specialty classroom spaces designed with a variety of environmental, technological, and qualitative priorities.
