Southbank Shuttle Hybrid

Fort Wright, Kentucky

The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) received a government grant in 2007 to purchase two hybrid electric buses. These hybrid buses were the first of their kind in the greater Cincinnati area.

TANK approached MSA to implement the existing Southbank Shuttle brand into these new buses while giving the brand a fresh-look. MSA designed the original Southbank Shuttle logo, graphics and brand in the 1990’s. It was important to maintain the well-established design elements of the brand, while updating the overall look. MSA re-designed and simplified the circular logo to incorporate the hybrid information and utilized a green color to emphasize the environmentally-conscious technology of the new buses. The bus graphics were simplified to allow for easy and seamless replacement of damaged bus panels on-site. The added green color on the bus graphics allows the hybrid aspect of these buses to stand-out amongst the other Southbank Shuttle buses, while keeping intact the essence of the original brand design.
