Fire Station #1 is the result of a strategic master plan for fire services and other government facilities. The master plan includes the replacement of the existing twenty-five year old primary fire station with a new state-of-the-art facility in order to adequately provide the necessary services to meet the current growth trends. The new 15,800 square foot primary fire station will expand and enhance the City’s current capabilities and is planned to have four large apparatus bays, administrative offices, sleeping quarters, as well as an unfinished basement to meet future requirements. The building will be constructed with brick and stone masonry walls and sloped roofs. The second part of this project includes the renovation of Fire Station #2 as part of an effort to extend the life of the facility by replacing and updating interior finishes, upgrading the bathrooms, and modernizing the kitchen.
