Jim brings a well-rounded knowledge of how buildings are constructed, a solid grasp of business economics and a healthy respect for people’s time and effort. This enables him to simultaneously evaluate the impact of design and modifications. That includes how they effect aesthetic value, building construction, and the trades and consultants. Jim’s focus and extreme organization enable him to easily work on several projects simultaneously. He can handle document production, specifications and construction administration, while surveying existing buildings, time mapping fire/EMS response, master planning, and writing RFPs for consultant services – all while yelling at contractors.
Away from the office Jim uses his organization and energy to become involved in as many outdoor pursuits as possible, including backpacking, shooting and firearms, gardening and salt water fishing. He’s also starting to get into mountain biking and whitewater kayaking. When he stays within the city limits, Jim enjoys being involved in his Mainstrasse Village community, and watching Formula 1 auto racing.
