Community Pool North
Project Description

After serving the Dublin community for nearly 30 years, Dublin Community Pool North was overdue for a major renovation.

MSA began working with the City of Dublin Parks and Recreation Department at the end of 2018 on the replacement of their North Community Pool.

Finding the Right Fit

The existing pool consisted of one combined lap and leisure pool, as well as a separate toddler area. The project began with a series of community engagement meetings with MSA as the lead architect. Tasked with helping to define the project goals, establish the programming of the new site and pool facility, and develop the overall pool plan, our team came well equipped with a design that best fit the needs of the community. When feedback and findings were received, MSA presented the final design concept that was approved in the fall of 2019.

Results of the Renovation

The new outdoor pool facility will include a separate 8-lane lap pool with diving platforms and a climbing wall, a zero-entry leisure pool with a connected slide tower, and a separate zero entry wading pool. The existing splash pad was able to be retained with the new design. As part of the project, the storm water management plan required expensive site and infrastructure improvements. The project will also include additional parking for community members and visitors. Three of the existing smaller support building were also able to remain in the new plan, and will be recladded to match the architecture of the new pool building. A new pool building will provide new restrooms, family restrooms, concessions, offices, a guard’s room, and a new, larger pool mechanical room. The project is scheduled to be completed by the 2021 pool season.
