The Way We Work
MSA starts by creating a map using GIS information showing the location of the existing stations and the area that the fire department can reach from each station in a given amount of time. From there, we can evaluate areas of the department’s jurisdiction that might be underserved or determine a new proposed distribution of stations. Fire and EMS call data can be added to the maps to show where high quantities of calls occur, high risk or high call volume properties can be identified and mutual aid response areas can be shown. When all of this information is considered, stations can be strategically located to maximize their effectiveness and usefulness to the community.
